I concur, I went to see Des last night at the Hi-Fi Bar as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. I went in open minded and exited but as an Australian I did'nt laugh once. The majority of his jokes centred around his experiences of the Catholic Church which made his act seem like a crusty sermon not a comedy routine. He even went so far as to make gags about paedophilia, abortion and rape which were in bad taste, with many ‘jokes’ rendering the audience speechless.
If you’re not Irish and Catholic you WILL NOT be entertained by this git.

Des Bishop is great! Being Irish though I guess you probably have to be Irish to get many of his jokes.
I am Irish and it's not that I don't get his jokes, it's jast that I got them the first time...and the second time....and the third time..you get the picture. There's only so many times you can hear an annoying American "doing" a Cork accent and find it hilarious. Added to this the fact that I paid money to see him and he was late starting and then walked off stage because things weren't going his way...I reiterate, Des Bishop Is a Wanker!!
